Second Annual Wylie View Chili-Taste-a-Thon!!
WYLIE, TX (November 7, 2007) – This past Saturday, The Wylie View, LLC and its members raised $650 to benefit The Donnie Worthington Memorial Scholarship Fund with the second annual Wylie View Chili Taste-a-Thon, held at Wylie’s Community Park.
For the last two years, the proceeds raised by members and their friends and families have gone to local charities selected by the Wylie View, LLC. This year The Wylie View is proud to announce that it exceeded expectations by raising $475 more than last year. Several cartons of canned and packaged goods were also collected during the event and were donated to the Wylie Christian Care Center.
“I was very pleased with the turnout. The members really pull together when there is a need,” said Julie Nicholson, The Wylie View, LLC board president. “The Wylie View is known for its generous members and enjoys being able to contribute to the Wylie community.”
Seven chili cooks treated guests to a variety of chili, and a wide selection of cookies, brownies, and other yummy goodies were provided by many generous bakers. The Wylie View appreciates the cooks and bakers for their hard work in making the event a huge success! Special thanks go to Garcia’s Party Rental for entertaining the children with a bounce house.
The Wylie View, LLC is an Internet community message board bringing the people of Wylie and surrounding areas together online with over 2,500 registered users and growing each day. Log onto www.wylieview.com for more information.
